             The optimal solution
Optimar Opti"ush is a well-documented solution that has been
specially developed to remove salmon lice from salmon and trout
             - without the use of chemicals or medicines. Only temperate water
is used and a combination of "ushing below and above the water
surface to remove lice. This is done in a very gentle way, which does
not damage either the mucous membranes, skin or eyes of the !sh.
Aquaplan-niva has assessed !sh welfare when using Optimar Op-
ti"ush. The report clearly states that compared to cages that were
only treated with thermal de-"eaing, it was observed here that the
treatment temperature could be lowered by approximately two de-
grees. Opti"ush technology can contribute to increased welfare for the salmon
